Virginia

The historical significance of Virginia is just unparalleled in the Usa. Presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson lived in their state as did most of the founding fathers. In the revolutionary war with England, Virginia was front and center in the battle with Williamsburg and Richmond playing central roles. From the Civil War, no introduction is needed by the battles at locations such as Fredericksburg and Cold Harbor. In these modern times, Virginia is unique in seamlessly combining modern growth and old world charm.

Richmond

Situated on the James River, Richmond was burned to the ground twice during the tumultuous early years of the united states. The main city of the Confederacy, Richmond was under attack through much of the Civil War and suffered because of it. Following the war, however, the town was rebuilt and has remained effective since that time. Today, the town can be an interesting mixture of sophisticated turn of the century architecture and modern structures. Financially, Richmond is famous for strong financial and tobacco industries.

Fredericksburg

Because we, FSBOAmerica.org, can be found in the town Fredericksburg must get special mention. Our town is among the nicest in a good place and the south to raise a family, though we may be biased. Downtown features a particular sophisticated old south atmosphere while areas are full of change of the century domiciles with white picket fences. Fredericksburg was our choice, once we had to choose a spot to raise a family. We havent regretted it once.

Virginia Real Estate

Virginia property prices can vary from the low $200,000 to the large $700,000 depending on the site. A single-family house in Richmond may operate $340,000 on average, while domiciles in Blacksburg could be had for an average of $220,000. On top end, houses in Alexandria average in the mid to high $700,000 range.

For 2005, Virginia real estate shows strong value development. By having an appreciation rate of not exactly 21 percent, Virginia has the eighth best figure in the united kingdom.
